chronicle IV - crossing the first threshold
the meaning

drawing - forward in faith - ink on paper, 2025
drawing - forward in faith
in the drawing, we see the winged figure launching into the air
as the ground beneath her breaks apart.
the earth is crumbling where she stood -
a surface that can no longer hold her -
while she lifts beyond it.
behind her, rays from the sunrise emanate,
spilling out around her,
capturing her figure in light.
she is no longer in the darkness, hesitating.
she is moving forward.
her wings are fully spread.
her body is extended forward and upward.
her head is raised toward the sky,
her chest open and lifting.
she has crossed the point of no return.
this moment captures wholehearted commitment.
every part of her is in motion -
not reaching back,
not hesitating,
not negotiating.
she has chosen to leave the old life behind,
and she has leapt toward a new one she cannot yet see.
she is carried by faith rather than certainty.
she does not know what awaits,
but she trusts what is pulling her forward.

read the letter - to the life that lost me
echo - the leap is taken
for a long time, she lived inside a life she didn't want -
and she could feel another life waiting beyond it.
she saw it clearly,
but couldn't reach it.
fear, timing, uncertainty, loyalty, habit -
all the quiet forces that keep a person in place -
held her there.
then an opening appeared.
not a perfect one.
a real one.
the kind that only asks one question:
will you take it, or pass?
and she took it.
she knew it was dangerous -
not safe,
not certain,
not guaranteed.
but she also knew the greater danger was staying.
the life she wanted was suddenly in front of her,
and she leapt before delay could return.
the leap is taken.
the echo follows the letter -
the experience as it was lived after she chose to move forward toward the life she wanted.
nothing was certain in that moment.
only this: she trusted the faith pulling her forward.
once she waited for certainty.
now, she moves with trust.

reflective prompt
have you ever felt something inside you ask you to cross into the unknown -
trusting only the quiet faith pulling you forward?
for me, I can't fully locate this feeling.
it isn't a thought.
it's an energy -
a knowing -
a field that lives through my whole body.
it feels like a pull forward
with no story attached to it.
no explanation.
no proof of what's ahead.
it moves through me as sensation:
pressure, lift, urgency, stillness -
many emotions at once.
but beneath them is one overwhelming clarity:
I have to move in this direction.
something in me knows before I do.
and the only thing that sets it in motion
is one movement from me:
a decision to jump -
and the willingness to commit to it.

I was tired from translating my soul
I was never hard to understand or see
reflective prompt
what would it mean to be seen so deeply that you are no longer alone?
